Ceramic Tub Wall before Re-grouting and Re-caulking
If you’ll do it in time, you can give shower surfaces a new life and a clean look by applying a new grout and caulk.
Choose the right tools, grout, and caulk before you begin scrubbing out the old grout, make sure you have all the tools and materials you’ll need to complete the project. You will have a window of time to re-apply the grout and wipe it from the surface.
In re-grouting you cannot stack grout like paint layers to achieve a smooth grout line. Control the blade so it doesn’t scratch the tile, so start with light pressure.
Removing old caulk and grout requires a lot of work, but it’s not so heavy task, especially if you don’t rush, taking your time.
Depending on the condition/dryness of the caulk, you can remove it easily with the help of a knife. Use the acetone to clean the caulk residue off the surfaces where you will apply.
When you’re done, remove all dust that can weaken the bonding between the tiles and the new grout or caulk.
