Marble Buffing/Shining Service
Marble buffing is a process used to maintain the shine and appearance of marble surfaces by removing superficial dull spots, watermarks, and micro scratches from the surface. This buffing process has to be used to maintain any traffic area on a regular basis. Residential areas should be buffed only once/twice a year when building lobbies could require daily/weekly buffing.
It involves using specialized equipment, such as a low-speed floor buffer or hand-held polisher, along with abrasive compounds or polishing powders, to gently abrade the surface of the marble and restore its natural shine. For the floor buffing, we use a diamond buffing compound with a low-speed floor machine and white or red nylon floor pads.
Marble buffing can also help to remove stains, etching, and other imperfections from the surface of marble, making it look clean, glossy, and refreshed. It is an important part of marble maintenance and care to keep marble surfaces looking their best and prolong their lifespan. In addition, it can be the final step of the full restoration procedure.
However, it is important to follow proper techniques and use appropriate products to avoid damaging the marble during the buffing process. It is recommended to hire a professional marble restoration expert or follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the best results.
