Many people use it in bathroom and showers without problems but to keep it without etches, stains, scratches and mold free you have to constantly take care of marble. For some people it can be not easy or just annoying task.
For me personally I would not use the white marble in bathroom, especially in shower area. I would probably put porcelain that looks like marble or simply ceramic tile.
