After Recaulking Cleaning Limestone Tubtop

Let’s consider step by step the way of closing a gap between a tile and a tub top.

If the gap is 1/8 of an inch or so, it is better to use silicone that reliably protects the gap from water penetration.

First of all, the abutment of the tub top to the wall should be de-greased with any solvent. Important: when using a solvent, you must wear a mask and gloves.
In a tube with silicone make a hole, then insert it into a caulking gun and begin to gently squeeze the silicone into the gap between the wall and tubtop.
Silicone is an elastic mass and allows you to easily fill the space, giving the gun the most comfortable position; It is important: that the gap must be filled in one go, since after solidifying, application of the next layer becomes impossible.

Next, bring your finger to the surface covered with silicone and move it in one direction. Important: chaotic movements of the finger can make the seam rough and uneven. The elasticity of the silicone allows it to take a shape imparted by the movements of your finger.
