Can the polyurethane coating be fixed?

My travertine round dining table was sealed with polyurethane. Nail polish was spilled and removed some of the coating. Can this be fixed?

  1. Eugene A says:

Hello, you can try to sand it out with fine sandpaper like 1000+, then apply some sort of soft finishing wax like “Goddard’s” or “SCL Countertop Polish”.

Note, the sanding can be time consuming and finer sandpaper you use the shiner will be finish.
