White Mantelpiece Oily Adhesive Blots

The organic blots/smears were left by Christmas Decorations adhered to the marble panel. Often there is an opportunity to remove such stains with special gels, and organic stains from a light stone often can be removed by hydrogen peroxide.

Removal of organic stains such as coffee, tea, tobacco, bark, leaves, tar, and urine. Such undesired stains may have a pinkish color. If they are indoor they could be removed with bleaching. Take a mixture of a few drops of ammonia and a 20% solution of hydrogen peroxide. Saturate a paper towel, put on the spot and leave for 24 hours. After this, rinse the spot with warm water and wipe dry. Repeat the process if needed.
