5 Stages of Floor Restoration. Disrepair Foyer Floor

Marble grinding and polishing is used for pitted, swelled and worn out to a depth of 1/16 to 3/16 + inches. Marble floor grinding is carried out to the majority gap’s depth, and the deepest ones are filled by special patching methods.

In the presence of a large number of potholes, chips or cracks, the grinding is impractical, in this case, it is easier to replace such tiles, if available.

5 Stages of Marble Floor Surface Restoration and Processing.

  1. Deep cleaning of marble from dirt, soil, and dust;
  2. Restoring cracks, gaps, chips, and deep scratches;
  3. Primary surface grinding and polishing with diamond pads;
  4. Buffing with buffing abrasive powder;
  5. Sealing and stain proofing.

If you want to make marble floor surface become perfect – the best way to do so is the polishing, also known as refinishing. A number of abrasive materials are used for polishing. At first, the treatment is carried out with coarse diamond pads and then series of less abrasive. This happens until scratches are not visible to the naked eye, and the floor surface does not become completely smooth and shiny.
