UV-Resistant Epoxy Applied
The final stage of the tabletop re-coating involves the application of a high-performance, UV-resistant epoxy designed to mimic the depth and clarity of natural stone while providing a protective barrier. The material is applied using a flood-coat technique, where the resin is poured and allowed to flow across the 40″ x 80″ slab. This self-leveling process eliminates the brush strokes or roller textures often found in inferior finishes, resulting in a surface with nearly perfect optical planarity.
The finished product exhibits a high degree of specular reflection, transforming the table into a mirror that perfectly captures the surrounding architecture and landscape without distortion. By replacing the old, light-absorbing polyester with a modern, clear-pour epoxy, the refractive index of the surface is restored, allowing light to penetrate the stone and highlight the intricate veining of the marble beneath. This re-coating service not only returns the piece to its original aesthetic intent but also provides a durable, UV-stable finish that resists the yellowing that plagued the previous sealer.
